Well-known TV weatherman Dave Devall was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 436 Squadron at 8 Wing Trenton, ON in December 2006.

Honorary Colonel Devall was born in Toronto, ON. In his youth he began a career with the Royal Canadian Air Force but during his training he was introduced to the science of meteorology, which was to become his life's vocation.

He attended the Radio and Television Arts program at Ryerson University and, while still a student, worked at CFPL-TV and CFRB. After graduating from Ryerson in 1958, he worked at CHEX-TV in Peterborough. In 1961 when at CFTO, which was to become CTV Toronto, was launched, he joined their news team as a weather analyst and presenter. To this day he remains their senior and top weatherman. Recently retired, his more than 48 year career as a TV weather forecaster is now recorded in the Guiness Book of World Records.
