Mr. Knox M Henry

Honourary Chairman
The Warriors’ Day Parade

March 2008

The Warriors’ Day Parade Council is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Knox M. Henry as Honourary Chairman.

Knox was born in Toronto and raised in the then rural village of Agincourt, which most of us know is now a part of Toronto.  Following a brief but very successful career in the insurance business, Knox entered the horticultural industry and became one of Canada's leading horticulturists.

He quickly rose from a propagator to corporate executive and, during almost 2 decades of experience in this industry, he managed three of Canada's largest horticultural businesses.  Knox then spent 12 years operating his own management consulting business until being offered an opportunity to become a full-time Vice-Chair of Ontario’s Environmental Appeal Board -- a predecessor to the Environmental Review Tribunal.  Knox had served as a part-time member of the Environmental Appeal Board and its predecessor since January 1, 1975.

He is the senior Vice-Chair of the Environmental Review Tribunal where he acts as an adjudicator and mediator.

Knox’s volunteer activities include serving on the Board of Directors of the CNE for over 29 years; President of the Burlington Environmental Reuse Group for over 15 years; volunteering with the Canadian Diabetes Association, former Chair of Seneca College's Business Division Advisory Board plus many other activities. Knox has been a long-time, enthusiastic supporter of The Warriors’ Day Parade.

When time permits, he cycles, reads, enjoys music -- especially with his background as a semiprofessional singer, and works on his model train layout.

Knox resides in Markham, Ontario with his wife Anne.  He's the proud grandfather of 41 grandchildren.
