The Goodyear Remembrance Trophy

Marching Formation of 16 or More

The Goodyear Remembrance Trophy was donated in 1952 by The Goodyear Overseas Veterans Club in memory of those employees of Goodyear Canada Inc. who were killed in World War I and World War II. Among the 47 employees who lost their lives while in uniform in the Second World War was Flight-Lieutenant David E. Hornell VC, R.C.A.F. 162 Squardron who was awarded the Victoria Cross pothumously.

The Goodyear Overseas Veterans Club, no longer in existence, were active participants in the Warriors' Day Parade for many years, often having more than 48 Veterans in the parade.

The photo shows members of The Goodyear Overseas Veterans Club marching in the 1940 Warriors' Day Parade.

We will remember them.
